Project description:
The rebuilding of this historic hotel comprises of the construction of an underground multi-level parking. This required the realization of a 13m-deep excavation, for a total length of 195m, supported by a multi anchored sheet pile wall.
Geologic context:
Sanremo flysch formation (shales with thin layers of sandstone) characterized by different weathering degrees function of depth. Colluvial and/or recent deposits cover the flysch bedrock.

Verification of the stability of the retaining wall: geotechnical characterization and analysis with respect to the structural adequacy and overall stability of the retaining wall. The analysis and monitoring recommendations were based on Eurocodes and Italian norms.
