Project description:

85.67MW hydroelectric project along the Taquesi and Unduavi Rivers consisting of two cascade plants: the Chojlla and the Yanacachi. A total of 7km of diversion tunnels (width: 2.4m height: 3m), excavated by conventional means.

Geologic context:

Tunnels are excavated principally through metapelites. Good rock classes prevail (65%), very high inflows and overbreak in the poorer rock classes as defined by the highly fractured and weathering conditions.

Diversion tunnels Chojlla and Yanacachi - technical review of the dispute on grouting: analysis of Project documents (specs and correspondence between the Concorcio and Black & Veatch - Colenco Power Engineering JV), comparison with technical literature on grouting, technical assessment of the need for grouting independent of contractual documents.
